What is transcription? How does it work?
Computer algorithms analyze the voice message and convert it to text, using something like a dictionary to convert sounds to words. Of course, it's not yet perfect, so sometimes proper names and locations can get lost in translation, but the service continually learns over time. And since there are no humans involved in the translation, there's no need to worry about the privacy of your messages - you're safe!

How do I set my voicemail greeting?
In keeping with the simple nature of Read-it Voicemail, the service uses a Name Greeting to announce to your callers. Enter your name the way that you would like callers to hear it on the App configuration page in the field labeled: Name. This name will be "spoken" to callers as a greeting when they reach your voicemail. The service uses a text-to-speech engine to translate the text into a spoken name. If you do not enter a name in this field, a generic greeting will be used.

Can I still access my old voicemail from my previous service?
Any saved voicemail from before you turned on Read-it Voicemail should still be stored in your previous voicemail service as per the storage rules of the service. All new voicemail will only be stored in the email account that is associated with Read-it Voicemail. If you cancel the Read-it service, you can access your previous service and therefore saved messages. However, you will not have access to those messages while Read-it Voicemail is enabled.

If I cancel service, will my old voicemail service and greeting be restored?
Yes, if you choose to cancel the Read-it Voicemail service, all of your settings of your previous voicemail service will be intact. Your previous greeting will be presented to callers and at this point you will be able to access saved voicemail.

How do I cancel my service?
To cancel the Read-it Voicemail service, go to the App configuration page and click Info. This screen will have a "Cancel Service" button. Click this button to cancel your service. Once you've clicked it, the App will ask you if you are sure that you would like to cancel the Read-it Service, click the "Yes" button. Once you have followed these steps, your previous Voicemail service will be restored and you will no longer receive voicemail service from Read-it, including transcriptions. You can uninstall the App, but it is not necessary to cancel this service.

If I uninstall the App, what happens to my voicemail?
If you have uninstalled the App without turning off the service, your Read-it Voicemail service is still on. This is not a bug. Unfortunately, the uninstall process does not run the App and therefore we are unable to cancel the service during the uninstall. If you've uninstalled the app, your voicemail is still on and voicemail are still being sent to the email address that you provided. So, don't panic! You have two options if you'd like to cancel the service now, you can reinstall the App, by clicking here, and then cancel it by going to Info, Cancel Service and then select "Yes" to the cancel service confirmation. What if I am not receiving my Voicemail messages using Read-it Voicemail?
If you are not receiving your Voicemail messages, please confirm that the App is properly installed. Then, check the App Configuration page to ensure that you entered a valid email address. If you verified these but still don't receive your voicemail, check your Spam or Bulk folder in your email account and confirm that the messages are not getting filtered to one of those folders. If they are, add the sender's email address to your Contacts so that your email service will recognize the sender and your messages can be delivered to your Inbox.
